Private Lessons
GLMBA administers a Private Lesson Program designed to offer band and choir students extra-curricular music instruction from sepecialized instructors.
Private lessons will help the student to acquire the necessary skills for full enjoyment of music through their instrument. Each individual instrument has its own characteristic problems and each student approaches these problems differently. Private lessons will help the student to eliminate these problems and allow them to progress at their own speed and level. Please note that this is not a money making project, nor is it a requirement for participation in the instrumental program at Grand Ledge.
➢ Who is eligible: 6 through 12 grade instrumental music students
➢ When: September through May
➢ Times: 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
➢ Length of lesson: 30 minutes
➢ Where: Grand Ledge High School
➢ Instructors: Undergraduate, graduate, doctoral candidates and doctors of music
➢ Cost: Ranges from $20 to $30 per 30 minute lesson
Note: the Grand Ledge Music Boosters will reimburse parents of private
lesson students $5.00 per lesson as long as monies are available, and when
the student is prepared for the lesson. Reimbursement is available for students in grades 6 through 12.
Deposit Private Lesson Reimbursement Requests to GLMBA boxes at the High School or Beagle or Hayes.
Late requests will not be accepted
If you have not signed up for RAISE RIGHT yet, please do so as it is a requirement for reimbursement.

The Grand Ledge Music Boosters will reimburse parents for private lessons if funds are available, up to $5.00 a week. Lessons must be approved by student's director. ACTIVE participation in RAISE RIGHT is required. Multiple lessons within a week and lessons outside of the student's Grand Ledge School discipline are not be reimbursable.
The student must be prepared for the lesson. If funds are not available parent will be notified that lessons will not be reimbursed.
To participate in GLMBA Private Lessons, please use the link on this page. You will be contacted by our lesson coordinators or the instructor. Please contact your band director if further information is needed. Students currently enrolled in GLMBA private lessons must complete a new enrollment form for each school year.
Each instructor has their own policies for cancellation and missed lessons.
The private music lesson instructors are not employees of Grand Ledge Public Schools and thus, Grand Ledge Public Schools assumes no responsibility for their conduct.
